Why so many drive bays?

I wish I had a few more external bays in my Antec AMG 1080.. it has 4+2

I use 4 of my 6 5.25 bays currently. 1 x dvd-rw, 1 x dvd-rom, 1 x 50gb tape backup (will be retired soon), 1 x scsi cdrom drive

I also use 7 of my 8 3.5inch bays 🙂
 
I like having two optical drives and I like keeping plenty of breathing room around my HD's, so they tend to make it into larger spaces too. I also have a newq platinum.
