This isn't another ios vs android thread, I don't really care what phone anyone uses and I personally own 2 android tablets - great values if you ask me (iOs phone though). But let's use this comment from Anandtech's iPhone review as exhibit a:

This is just one example of just angry, vitriolic, and borderline batshit crazy stuff android fans say when defending their platform. Sure, there are smug apple users out there but they don't seem to take this all so seriously as android fans do.

When a respected review site posts a positive apple article they come out in droves, claiming conspiracies and bought influence (when Samsung and LG are the ones who have been proven to have paid bloggers). Apple does not seem to need to buy good press (and of course they have moments of bad press). They just never accept that someone likes a product that they do not.

Considering that android has the dominant marketshare and "won," why so bitter? The vitriol reminds me of tea party commenters on CNN articles, seems like a screw or two loose!

P.S. I'm not calling all android fans crazy, obviously.

You say this as if the same thing doesn't happen on the other sides. I've seen countless fanboys of iOS, Android, Windows Phone and even Blackberry all rage against the others. It's not at all limited to any single brand.

There are crazy people in all walks of life.

Count me in the group that couldnt give a flying crap about which OS is running my phone. Provided it can run active sync, Pandora, and actually make a phone call. That is really all I need the phone for.

There's crazy aggressive people on every side of every issue. There's good parts of anonymity on the web, but this is one of the ugly side effects... people don't care what they say because they know they'll never be accountable for it.

I've learned to stay out of the Mobile Devices board. You post a legit observation and they'll pick apart the dumbest things if it interferes with their world view. Almost worse than P&N. 😛

My thought is Apple users just like it because it's Apple and cannot defend most of their choices for choosing it vs. Android these days. This is why they don't take it seriously - many don't even know the differences or don't care if it's inferior. Android fans should just let them be... leave the horse alone. I know people who can't wait to get the 6+ (still)... meanwhile all this time they could've had the Note 3. And how much are they paying for the privilege? I just let them be happy because I'm not going to argue with a lady friend who couldn't care less.

Ha, I've never, ever seen a Blackberry or Windows phone zealot. Sure, there are people who prefer lumia to apple, but I've never seen anyone resort to bitter name calling, or using boring and dated "isheep," "you're holding it wrong," taunts.

Here's a funny thing, you're right - android fans force people into justifying their choice. "I like X better" just isn't good enough, as if everything is a tooth and nail debate and black and white. You can't just like metal phones as a preference without being called an idiot. You can't just not care that a phone isn't 4k without being some sort of deviant in their eyes.

what i want to know is on the note 4 commercial where all they are trying to do is make fun of apple and not really show anything that their product does other than pull up tweets to prove their point about making fun of apple, is why do they have a pirated movie showing on their phone?

teenage mutant ninja turtles doesn't even come out until december 16th for home use - i checked last night.

could they simply have been running the trailer for the movie?

also Edge Of Tomorrow apparently has some stupid bass scene close to the start of the movie. like more intense than the pod emerge scene in WOTW, not sure if you had heard that. you will prob enjoy it on your system, just be careful apparently its bottoming out drivers

Are you really trying to say that this is limited to only one brand? Because that would be quite incorrect.

I would say the angry one is you if the person's comment made you create a thread about it to get reassurances about your mobile choice.

If you want an answer as to why Android users = more aggressive, go look at demographic breakdowns. More men use Droid whereas more women/elderly (who many would consider technologically naive as a whole and probably be correct) use iPhones. Men = testosterone vs Women/Elderly = None or low T.

It is pretty BS that Apple is putting 1GB of RAM in a flagship phone in 2014. ESPECIALLY after Anand took them to task for the fact the 64 bit programs used more RAM last year when they did the same thing with the iPhone 5s. All these devices are a step BACKWARD from the freaking 2012 iPhone 5 when it comes to things that use a lot of RAM because they have stayed at 1GB for three freaking years.

Apple makes more than enough margin on those phones, they could have EASILY thrown in 2GB. Its stupid, especially when Android phones are up to 3GB and have had 2GB models since 2012.

If it never mattered that would be one thing, but the lack of ram is VERY easy to see when you pull up all those safari tabs. Between that and bendgate the iPhone 6 Plus went from guaranteed Christmas present for my wife to "I hope I can convince her to wait for the S model."

In fact when Anand got hired that article was EXACTLY what I thought about- "they just got rid of the only guy calling them out for the hardware they ship."
