Why should U.S. invade Iraq?? (need some reason)

yea, my damn prof made us team to have a debate on it. And we are responsible for that US should invade Iraq.. Personally, I don't see why US should invade Iraq.. do you guys have anything to say about it??

Many other countries have nuclears or other serious weapons as well.. who is going to disarm them? like U.S. for example? And if U.S. can easily go to "disarm" someone, What is the purpose of having UN?

Well Iraq is the most likely to use theirs and have already used weapons of mass destruction in recent times. And the point of the UN? Apparently not much, since they can't enforce their own resolutions.

Why do *I* think that the US should invade Iraq?

1. Saddam Hussein is close to having nuclear weapons, which he could use on US allies or US bases in foreign countries
2. Hussein is killing off thousands of Kurds in the area.
3. Oil finances those who finance terrorism. The United States is a *huge* oil customer. If we can just get all of our oil from Iraq, we can pull out of Saudi Arabia, put them on call-block, and let them rot. We could sell excess to allies at a discount, just so that they wouldn't buy from terrorism-sponsoring nations. This includes Russia which is financially strapped right now.

Now, there is some talk of the Kurds being able to form a "Kurdistan", their own country, out of parts of northern Iraq. I doubt that would happen, but being rid of Saddam would be better than what they have now.

This is what I personally think. I'm open to any argument. Seriously

I used to believe the same but the Bush Sr. attack in Kuwait was never linked to Saddum.

Here are the reasons I feel Bush Jr. is doing it:

1) Oil for personal profit.
2) Oil for special interests.
3) Revenge against Saddum for first being a good puppet but later becoming an Evildoing independent.
4) To send a strong message to all Evildoers (Arab states, N. Korea, China).
5) Phase one of targeting governments the Bush folk want eliminatated.
6) Gain another foothold in the region to get modern day American Empire expansion off to a great start.
7) National security/defense of Israel.
8) Oil for nation's future energy needs/to prevent another oil shortage like we had in the 70's.
9) To support the U.S. military-industrial complex (e.g. Westinghouse, McDonald Douglass/Boeing/Lockheed, G.E.).
10) Possibly to give a small boost to a segment of our economy.
11) To piss off Moonbeam.
