Why should I update to Acrobat Reader 7?

Our comptuer teacher has been bugging me to install Acrobat 7. I like to run version 5 since it's a small download and it runs quicker than 6 and 7. But she keeps insisting saying the rest of the world is on 7. Is it better or something? Just to view a PDF file, I dont think the large download is worth it. Not to mention it takes forever to open a file.

7 is a lot faster. Install and initial opening. The thing I am not impressed with Adobe on is the number of updates they have. There are already 3 updates for 7...

Seven is not only fast but it supports the very latest features. That makes it worth it for me. And who cares about 20MB when 90% of us have broadband?

I've got Acrobat Reader 7.

It's ok, but overall I hate Acrobat.

Takes forever to load, eats lots of resources, can't work with the files unless you pay up big time.

Gotta have it though, because Adobe has been very sucessful in getting lots of places, even parts of the US Government, to publish documents in Acrtobat.

The several applications that convert Acrobat files into MS Word sort of work, but not really all that well if the Acrobat ,pdf has lots of tables, graphics, or other non-textual elements.

I hate Adobe Acrobat.
