even??? i think we more than tipped the scales when our boys died on THEIR beaches to free them. it makes me sick to know my grandfather was shot 3 times on omaha for a country that wont give us a hand now.(he survived obiously, 1 round in the leg, 1 in the arm, 1 skimmed the side of his head and he has no hearing in his left ear.)

Maybe France doesn't believe in a war against Iraq at this juncture? After all they have been trading freely with Iraq for some time. Is it in their strategic interests to mess with that relationship? Besides, the French government hates America by default. And America-bashing is how their latest leader got elected after all.why cant they return a small favor and lend us a hand???

Let's say that France had saved OUR asses in WWII. Tomorrow they decide to invade Japan. Should we help them?

Is Japan in defiance of UN resolution after starting and losing a war? Is Japan acquiring chemical and biological weapons and has a nuclear weapons program?
If that is the case, then yes.
Opinion polls indicate greatest support for the Iraqi conquest if the world community is in agreement with the idea. Why do we need the assistance or the approval of france.

That is completely beside the point. The point is that we don't go to war just because some other country asks us to.

In this hypothetical case, France thinks the cause is just, but the USA doesn't. Should we help them anyway? I mean, they saved our asses in WWII, we can shoot some Japanese people for them.

That is the point. The defiance of the UN resolutions. The NBC weapons programs. The willingness of France to ignore it. The question is- why is France so willing to ignore it?
