I think it's just consistent with the laws of nature.

Look at lions. The male leader is typically so because of his size. And he has his way with all the females.

I realize this is not consistent throughout the animal kingdom. Aren't female spiders bigger than males? I think with some species the females also kill the males after mating. Yikes. Wouldn't happen if the male was bigger.

Short women get more protection and more romantic gestures from men.Tall women are expected to lift, tote, fetch and carry just like a man regardless of how small they might actually be in terms of weight.Tall women can't compete against their "sweet dainty lil thing" sisters.I've lived that reality all my life.
It's been proven in studies that taller women are more successful in corporate America, as well as men.

Being a tall woman sucks, trust me on that.I can easily list dozens of negatives about being a tall gal and cannot think of a single advantage to it.

The 29 year old TA that I dated in college was a 6'1" blond, and I was 20 year old @ 5'11". She didn?t have any complain with my height, and taught me everything that I now know. There are others that I have dated that fall between 5'6" to 5'11", however only one 5'6" was conscious of height. My current SO is the shortest that I have dated, at 5'1" and she is very conscious of her & my height.

IMHO, it all depends on the girl.

While watching Top Gear then, with Geri from the Spice Girls, it occured to me that it's a biological thing..more than just the "guy as a protector", and that's that women want tall children..so they go for taller guys to make up for their shortness.

You do realize that a 5'8" tall girl is only a few inches shorter than a man 6'0"? Basically, what you're saying is that the relatively tall women don't like shorter guys. Yep, that's probably true.

I don't think it has anything to do with short women wanting tall children though. That's a crazy hypothesis.

What I'm saying is, that the taller a women is, the less height differential she prefers in a guy.

While it may be obvious since there will be less differential anyway the shorter a girl is..but over the years that I've noticed a short girl, of about 5'1" or so, has more desire to go out with a guy who's 6'2" than a girl who's 5'7"..who would be more okay with someone who's 5'9-5'10 than the 5'1" girl would be.

How tall are you?

I remember there was a 6'8"-6'9" girl that I saw at a college party, and she didn't look like she had any fun...it was freaky to me to see a girl that size.

[edit] Saw your post above that you are 5'9"

I'm short (5'4), and my GF is 5'1. Ex was 5'3. It's of course difficult for me to find women that don't mind my height, but over the years I think I've developed a good amount of confidence that I don't outwardly show that my (lack of) height bothers me.

That's not true imho, I've found though that shorter men often develop annoying compensatory habits ie:napeoleon complex.

So true. I have a friend that has barrely grown since middle school and we are in our first year of college. He has the biggest little man sindrome I have ever seen. It really must suck for him to know that there is freshman in high school that are taller then him. Thank God I got good tall genes.

LOL!

So true, my current SO expected me to do everything for her including cooking, cleaning, lawndry & fetch everything. The others that I have dated that are taller do everything for themself.

Not this guy (250lbs).

Because tall guys like short girls.

I've heard the "genetics" theory before ... I think just because it's easier for the taller guys to pick them up, put them against the fridge, and give them a good rogering.

I'm 6'1" and my fiancee is 5'10". Height makes no difference to me.

Oh, a dwarf is talking!

A 'dwarf' that could kick your ass.

That's why I don't understand the strength thing, more short guys are in good muscular shape than tall.
It's all about density. I'm 6'2" and I'm just as strong as short guys that look much stronger than I do. Just think about it. Not only do I have an extra foot to fit the same amount of muscle, I also have an advantage with leverage.

As long as a girl is shorter than me, I really don't care. Being 6'2", its hard to find any that are taller than me.

edit: My girl friend is 5'8".

Bwahahaha. I think I'd be a little more clever than to say something like that. :p

Sometimes you just need to give the citizenry the occasional "investigative probe." :D

Or you can just play along the next time some college girls stuff dollar bills into your belt thinking you're a stripper. ;)

Touching the belt is an Officer safety issue. I'd prefer they go right after the trou.

I wonder if I'd have to write up a report of I "fired off a few rounds" on-duty...
