(Note: Roulette is a casino table game with a horrible house edge of 5.3%.
In contrast, 3:2 Blackjack has a house edge of about 0.4%.)

http://ww2.amstat.org/publications/jse/v13n2/mecklin.html
section 4:
The unfortunate Powerball player, after 50000 plays, had lost $42,892, or about 85.8 cents per $1 ticket.

In contrast, notice there are many more ups and downs with Roulette.
In this simulation, the casino ended up $4496 ahead after 50000 spins, an average of about 8.9 cents per spin, which is somewhat higher than the theoretical mean of
mu.gif
= 5.3 cents per spin.

But im still willing to give $ to play $1B+ powerballs, as long as Vivi is doing group buys :D

Gambling is stupid unless you are the house and have the advantage.

Yep!
Just walk in the door and throw your money on the floor and then walk out.

Honestly I figured casino games had a much higher percentage house advantage. That does not seem all that bad. The way I like to think of a casino is that it's like going to the movies, or a concert or something. It's something to do, and it will cost you. The main difference is that you are in control of how much you spend and you have a small chance to win. If you know your limit gambling is not super bad. Playing the stock market or getting into any kind of investment is basically gambling too. You need to do it with money that you are ready to lose. People who blow several grand are just retarded.

My first time at a casino was funny. Was me and my brother in law, both of us had never been in one. I was like 22ish but looked more like 12 so they looked at my ID for a long time before they let me in. We walked in, sat at a slot machine each, inserted a 20, it made some music for a while, and we walked out with nothing. Was like 10 minutes in and out. LOL. I can see how some people will go crazy though, because you figure "hey let's try again you never know!" Next thing you know 20 turns into 200 and turns into 2,000. I only bring cash at a casino. I don't even bring any form of credit or debit card on me. When I have no more cash, then I'm done.

My first time in a casino was my 21st birthday, I walked in and saw one of those big ass slot machines with the big honking handle on it. It was a $10 machine and I just had to try it even though now I despise slot machines, I put $10 in and won $200. I cashed out and left without making another bet. Anytime I go to a casino I have the amount I'm willing to spend and my "walk away" amount which is usually just double my money. My game of choice now is craps, it's fun and I'm pretty sure it has the best odds in the casino.

I don't go to casinos except for once in a blue moon entertainment.

I understand 5% edge house is horrible when you play roulette, but don't you think it's the easiest way to double your money?

Unlike blackjack there's 0 percent skill involved. You just bet black or red.

Then you have near half chance to double it. (45%).

Blackjack you have to play perfect basic strategy to minimize this to 0.5%. That means you must know how to play every scenario and play like a machine without giving into your emotions.

In a short spin or three, 5% disadvantage doesn't sound bad at all for requiring 0 actions.

if you want better odds on 50/50 chance, play Baccarat as Banker.
you don't need to know how to play. the dealer auto hits or stands depending on your cards. you have NO options after you choose a side (banker or player).

The better bet is Banker (always).
>50% chance of winning but you pay a 5% commission if win= ~1% house edge

I've never played baccarat but always wanted to give it a go. Do you just sit down at the table and say I want to play banker or will the dealer ask me? Can there be more than one banker at a table?
