IMO...it's a stupid talking point issue and Romney should ignore it.

Or he could make it go away completely...

I bet Romney has a cousin who is married to someone who hates blacks. Romney is a racist.

Pithy remarks may distract people from actual issues... you never know.
Is that like obama creating jobs for our infrastructure with "shovel ready jobs" and putting americans to work at GREEN jobs that never actually existed, at a cost of 1 million per job, which lasted what, 6 months?

No it's like the highway bill that republicans were considering stalling because if it had stalled regular maintenance that required road workers would've come to a halt. Then those newly unemployed workers would be looking looking at the administration for answers.

http://thehill.com/blogs/transporta...-to-lose-if-highway-bill-stalls-in-final-week

luckily it didn't happen.

unemployment went down, unemployment went down! that's because people are hitting the limit of claiming unemployment or have simply stopped looking. . . .
that's a stupid talking point to use when this is more accurate.

toward the end of President Bush's administration job losses were several tens of thousands per month. President Obama's administration was able to pull enough teeth out of the congress to get them to enact policies to help reduce the amount of job losses and even help spur (admittedly tepid) job growth.

We went from losing jobs to having the past 20+ months of job growth. It hasn't increased as much as everyone would like because Mitch McConnell said his number one priority should be making this President a one term president.

What we know.

President Material

Don't know if all this is true,

But we know enough about the other guy that is true.

Mitt Romney:
After going to both Harvard Business School and Harvard Law School simultaneously, he passed the Michigan bar, but never worked as an attorney.
As a venture-capitalist, Romney's first major business deal involved investing in a start-up office supply company with one store in Massachusetts that sold office supplies. That company, called Staples, now has over 2,000 stores and employs over 90,000 people.
Romney or his company Bain Capital (using what became known as the "Bain Way") would go on to perform the same kinds of business miracles again and again, with companies like Domino's, Sealy, Brookstone, Weather Channel, Burger King, Warner Music Group, Dollarama, Home Depot Supply, and many others.
Got your calculators handy? Let's recap.
Volunteer campaign worker for his dad's gubernatorial campaign 1 year.
Unpaid intern in Governor's office 8 years.
Mormon missionary in Paris 2 years.
Unpaid bishop and state president for his church 10 years.
No salary as president of the Olympics 3 years.
No salary as MA governor 4 years.
That's a grand total of 28 years of unpaid service to his country, his community and his church. Why? Because that's the kind of man Mitt Romney is!
And in 2011 Mitt Romney gave over $4 million to charity, almost 19% of his income....Obama gave 1%
Joe Biden gave $300 or .0013%
This is real character vs....well you know what!
Romney may not be the best representative the Republicans could have selected. At least I know what religion he is, and that he won't desecrate the flag, bow down to foreign powers, or squander my money on vacations. I know he has the ability to turn this financial debacle that the "Spending President" has gotten us into. We didn't know that when Obama said he'd give us change, he meant nickels and dimes, and he would get the big bucks. We won't like all the things necessary to recover from this debt, but someone with Romney's background can do it.
But, on the minus side, He never was a "Community Organizer", never took drugs or smoked pot. Never got drunk. Did not associate with communists or terrorists. Nor did he attend a church whose pastor called for God to damn the US.
Do Us all a favor. Please send this to others who may be ill informed.

I don't understand the stigma of having accounts overseas so long as he's not doing anything illegal. Maybe he's getting a better rate of return, maybe he feels it's more secure there. The point is why does it matter? What percentage of congress do you think has an overseas account? I'm invested in foreign companies does that make me out of touch with the middle class?

What we know.

Well, I could probably go through and pick apart that bullshit piece by piece. But I'll just do the simplest thing and give you this link to show you how much bullshit this email forwarded crap you posted is.

http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/bidens-donate-15-percent-income-charity-2011_636971.html

The quick skinny. Bidens donated about 1.5% of their income to charities, the Obama's about 22%.

In addition you have things like how Obama was awarded $1.4 million for winning the Nobel Peace Prize and didn't collect a dime and instructed the Nobel commity to give it to charity.

So how about in the future you don't post things that are demonstrably false.

you're not talking about the keystone pipeline that Obama disregarded did you? the one that would have made 5000 jobs? Granted the majority of them would have been temporary for construction . . . that's $$ in the pockets of middle class citizens, not obamas rich buddies

p.s., This Fool, Bobo, the Post Turtle, has said and continues to say that he is an African-American. Please tell me what that means. Is he saying that he is black? Does it mean that he is from Africa? What?

If you believe this long form BC, his race is Caucasian(white)-African.

Anyone who thinks they can predict who will win the elction at this point must have complete amnesia or never even paid attention in past elections.

and almost everyone who responded completely missed my point

MOST voters already know who they are voting for - even before we know who the candidates are - the staunch GOP people are going to vote that way, the die-hard liberals are going to vote for the Dem...

It's the people who aren't locked into a vote - in most cases, people that don't pay that much attention to political issues, that can decide a close election. These people, generally, are middle and lower income class people. Show those people a candidate with untold millions in multiple off-shore bank accounts, and they aren't going to relate to him, at all.

I'm not saying a candidate's finances should matter much, but in this case, I think they will.

And yet he's still a "socialist." Got it . . .

Not just a socialist. He is a pinko, commie, socialist, elitist, nazi, blank panther loving, black, i love you.

Did I miss any? I was really trying to get them all in. :)

(no offense intended to any of the aforementioned groups for implying Obama is sullying the group in which I placed him - this was all in jest)

What if we show them a candidate that just raised their taxes after promising not to? Would that change their vote any? Would increasing their taxes override their hatred of people with off-shore bank accounts?

That pretty much sums up the current situation. Lots of people know who they are going to vote for and against but there is still a large block of people who have not decided.

Well if no one else does the insurance companies will definitely love it. Stupid liberals. "Grrrr insurance companies are the evil!!!!", "Yea what a great law, creating millions of new customers for the insurance companies!!!"

lol troll.

bolded the important part.

it's worth mentioning that the Romney campaign hasn't really been rolling out ads in a major way.

as it stands right now, Obama is outspending Romney 3:1 and has run 7 negative ads versus Romney's 1... I doubt it will stay that way for long, though. most seem to suspect that the Romney campaign is waiting until the late summer/fall to really unload their cash machine.

They don't know how to run a campaign, while Obama's team does. Opinions start to harden at this point, and combined with the fact that Romney already has a big uphill battle in every single large state electorally except for Texas and Florida (which is a toss up), with Romney's image far more up for grabs and therefore his +/- much more malleable, it's going to be next to impossible for him to win without a significant domestic or international event occurring in the next 4 months. Ads only have effects on the margins, and Romney needs far more than that to win.

Of course, this is typical of a lot of incumbents, but a little more so this election.

I think there's a good chance it will be more about their own banks accounts, and less about Romney's.

I don't care where his money's at or how it's stored. What I care is him attacking the policies of Obama, which he's doing with nothing but feather so far. I want him to get out the sledgehammer and start pounding. Unfortunately, he's using the Dewey script of campaigning.

How is he supposed to attack Obama's policies when he was a big supporter of nearly all of Obama's policies for quite some time?

It's not that he isn't doing it well enough--it's simply that he can't.
