Why pm open up a new window

Sometimes I receive up to 10-15 pms at once.

It's nice to hit reply to them all and reply to them in the same window. Now though they all open up via the javascript pop-up window. It's slow, less efficient, and an extreme hassle if you receive lots of pms.
