Give it a little time. Theyve been so eager to get the first pictures that theyre wasting as little time getting as many as they can....they can get B/W pics three times faster than the color per pixel, so I'm sure in due time we'll have plenty of high-res color pics of titan. Be glad it actually landed. 😛
I'm assuming they actually have a color cam/filters on that thing, but that would be pretty stupid not to eh?

Why are these first images in black and white? Hard to tell if it's a stone, ice, or ball of yarn.
I could have donated my old Fuji FinePix 1300 1.3MP camera if they would have asked.

The Europeans are playing close to the chest with the pics, I hear there may be a rough video of the descent coming.
I also heard the probe is now dead, It was expected to only have a 2 hour lifespan on the surface.

I wonder if they had an environmental impact study prepared. Is the probe biodegradable? We pollute our planet, and then we litter the galaxy with out dead space probes.
It is just not right. :|

Why 2 hours? What is it about titan that is such a harsh environment? There cant be much of an atmosphere out there, but then again, if its supposedly to be reminicent of early earth...

probably had to do with the power supply --- solar power won't work with the thick atmosphere so far from the sun -- and becuase batteries are so heavy, they could only get two hours worth on board.
