Why on Ebay?

Ok I am new basically to looking on ebay. But why would you sell this on ebay?? HD Receiver

I am sure I am just stupid but why sell something this expensive and start w/ $600 and have that not even the reserve amount let alone the buy now not much higher.

Figure you computer savy people can explain it to me.

cuz those things you've pointed out will attract the ebayers, thinking the same thing that they'll get it real cheap..

and next thing you know, the price triples 5 mins before the auction closes..

A lot of stuff on Ebay is stupid. But Ebay can be really good for other stuff, like old or hard to find stuff.

wait, don't ya mean BUYERS?

Just last november, I bought 6 sticks of 512mb RAM for $60~ each off Mushkin.com and my auction looked like this:

RAM STRAIGHT FROM MUSHKIN.COM

and they were sold $80-90 each.. giving me $25~ profit per stick... now who's stupid? They could've just went to Mushkin.com and ordered it instantly for $60...
