Yes.

Tried the Atkins but the beer tempted me. I swear it called me from Harris Teeter and said, "Buy me...drink me..." I gave in to the temptation after a week of Atkins and haven't looked back.

some people (like me) don't like the taste of beer at all. At least with light beer, like bud light, it tastes just like water, so I have no problem going through 10-12 of them on a night out. Now I may only save 20-30 calories per beer, but for a 12 pack, that is a lot of calories saved (about 20 minutes worth of cardio).

just like the commercial says "it's less filling" so you can throw a few back more easily while drinking real alcohol(i.e. liquor).

Why on earth would you drink any beer that's not a Guinness. Hell, Guinness is the only beer worth calling beer. ;)

I can appreciate both light beer, and a thick as motor oil oatmeal stout. They both serve their purpose. A heavy, full bodied stout just doesn't taste as good as a light beer when you've been outside doing yardwork in 90 + degree temps with heavy humidity. Heavy beers also aren't as good in social settings like superbowl parties with all the snack foods that pile up in your stomach. Light beers just go down easy and don't bloat you as bad as the heavier ones.

To each their own. Too many effing beer snobs out there. In a blind taste test, I bet most Heineken drinkers couldn't tell the differnce between a $6.00 a six pack Heineken and a $3.00 a six pack Special Export.

Ill take that challenge anyday.

Meh...Guinness just doesn't hold a candle to a good porter, oatmeal stout, or chocolate stout. It's kinda like the Budweiser of stouts.

BLASPHEMY!!!!

I was rather turned off by it when I went over to Ireland. You couldn't walk more than 10 feet over there without tripping over some sort of Guinness propaganda. Then I learned about how it was actually made - they make Guinness "bullion" cubes over there at the St. James brewery and then ship the cubes out to big brewers in different countries where the bullion cubes are dumped into a vat to make guinness. It's then bottled/kegged locally and shipped out. Not quite as romantic as they would like you to believe.

Oh, that and after having more complex and full flavored stouts, Guinness just tastes bland anymore.

So true. There's much better than Guinness.

Yeah, the stouts are pretty heavy, I'm good after 3. For social beer we switched to Newcastle, $20 a case at Costcoand it tastes a lot better than Bud or MGD. Even on hot sweaty days, a nice cold Newcastle goes down great.

I would drink some soju (Korean hard liquor) and follow that with light beer because it is less filling.

I don't want to feel bloated.

I am not calling BS because I don?t know for sure in this case but it does seem wrong. Most foreign bottling deals like this ship and sell the core brewing components to the local brewery and require on of their brew masters to work 6 months to a year with them before giving the local brewery free reign to brew and market thier product. There are still inconsistencies in the product. Fosters brewed in the UK tastes better to me than the AU and USA, Canadian brew. One my Favoraites, Kirin taste like crap now since A Bush took over the brewing and bottling in the US market.
