I mean if someone abuses it, you can simply ask a Mod to deal with them...

So why would you bother? So you force people to clutter up threads arguing with you in that thread? To prevent people from contacting you?

I can't see a single reason to disable it myself...you?

Personal preference? I have it enabled because I don't want my inbox cluttered with AT mail about new posts in my subscribed threads.

Not to be bothered? I had my PMs off for the first couple of years I was a member here. I only enabled them about a year or so ago when several ATers were getting together to play UT2004. Since then I've just left them on but have considered turning them off again.

I could turn mine off to increase my post count.

I've had quite a few conversations about audio with people that could have added quite a bit.

I'd probably be up around 14k if my audio PMs were made in threads.
