I think palin will get to appoint someone. I am not sure if that person would serve a short term till a new election or serve the full 6 years.

The more I learn about Alaska, the more I support Todd Palin's secessionist party. GO ahead, join russia if you insist.

And Jean Schmidt won again.

Anyways, Palins path to the Senate is clear.

Alaskans would rather have a convicted Republican serve than a Democrat.

Wow.

I didn't realize there was so many sheep in Alaska.

I figured it was too cold up there.

Wrong, that would be John McCain who's against ANWR.

This is absolutely ridiculous, they may as well seccede from the Union b/c their gene pool is horrific.

Yahoo news still has it undecided. And my guess is, the loser will demand a recount.

Ted Stevens says "NO"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok techs, have your way, Stevens says no, courts says YES to six years in the slammer for Stevens. Right now, Stevens is a liability to the GOP.

And the only one who cares about Steven's ego is Steven's.

They've certainly got no monopoly on them. Our nation's own capital re-elected Marion Barry how many times? And Detroit sure seems to pick some winners.

Only in Alaska could a convicted felon still win a Senate seat. The polls had Begich up by a very large amount, but clearly they were off.

I hope the Senate throws his worthless ass out once they convene for the new session in January.

It's the Alaskan way of saying "In yo' face, 'Merrica!"

That, or the effects of talk radio and moose-meat contaminated by Russian nuclear and industrial waste...

I don't think they are voting for Stephens but rather they are voting for the unknown that Palin will appoint to the seat over the Dem.

They are a very conservative state and just don't want the Dem in office. They know Stephens will not hold the seat.
