When you first notice you are awake, jump out of bed rapidly and harshly.

using snooze is evil, snooze totally blows your discipline out the window . don't use snooze and get up the second you are conscience

I use the snooze all the time and also set my alarm clock 30 minutes fast too. I think I made it to work on time 3 times this year 😉

Snooze button is evil, but setting clocks wrong on purpose is more evil. Everyone I know who does it has the result that they just knowingly adjust back and are just as late as ever. Thus they set the clock more wrong - and adjust bigger. Then they set the clock more wrong - and it still fails. I had one friend who was about 7 hours and 10 minutes early on the clock just so he could get to work on time. The addicting pattern never ends and it never works.

Instead, know when you need to leave, give yourself 5 minutes to spare, and leave at that time NO MATTER WHAT. No, your nose hair doesn't need clipping for the 3rd time today before you leave. No you don't have to iron your shirt before you leave. Etc.

Electrodes connected to your scrotum should do the trick.

But you may want to just go to bed earlier.

Or he could just rig up a Rube Goldbergian contraption that would douse him with frigid water.

Follow my advice above so you won't need an alarm clock and when it goes off you will hear it. And no, no you don't need a shower. Shower at night before bed and have clean sheets. Have your clothes set out. You can be out of the door 5 minutes after you wake up (get up, put on clothes, brush teeth, comb hair, leave).

Other thoughts. If you are truely getting 8 hours a night and are still tired, then one of two things are probably happening:
1) You aren't getting the same 8 hours a night (one night it may be 10 pm - 6 am and the next it might be 2 am to 10 am). Or
2) You aren't really sleeping well. You might have sleep apnea or some other condition.

Before going to sleep, "tell" yourself (verbally) to wake up at the specified time. Do that at least 3 times. Then visualize the time you need to wake up, the last instant before you close your eyes...

LMK if that works!

what you can do, is put the alarm on the opposite side of the room, so in order to turn it off you have to get out of bed. maybe put a backup alarm right next to you to wake you up if the first one isnt loud enough. that has helped some of my friends that have problems waking up in the morning.

I have moved my alarm as far away from my bed as I can, and I set up my stereo to go off at the same time very loud with high base. That way I know that if I don't wake up, my neighbors will wake me up 🙂
Also, I opened the window shade such that the sun hits my pillow at the time I am supposed to wake up. Of course now I wake up and listen to the radio for an hour before getting out of bed 😀

if you read the thread, you'd know that he doesn't even hear the alarm...

Maybe you should try the opposite, and sleep with the alarm clock right next to your ear? If you can sleep through that, then you're either deaf or dead...

My problem is that I don't use snooze - when i hear the alarm I just turn it off, even when i'm semiconscious. So, I don't even get a delayed alarm...

I have the same problem.

At first, I started sleeping with my alarm clock on the bed, about 18" for my head.

It worked for a while, but I've starting to sleep there with the buzzer in my ear .. ..

My roommate usually has to climb down and turn it off cause I sleep like a dead man.

The fire alarm won't wake me up.

Oh well.

P.S. Yes they are already really loud,, like, the whole house could hear them practically.. And i dont even shut them off, i just dont get up...

late for school (which starts at 10:30 about 5 times so far!!)

Any ideas??? 😀😀

I AM THE SAME EXACT WAY!!!!!! I need one across the room, my Computer mp3 alarm and cell phone all set to different times

I am currently working on an alarm that displays the time, and every second moves around so my laptop screen doesnt crap out, going to put it in my room with a really loud "AAAAAIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" sound, maybe it will wake me up

hopefully it works..

Anyone have a confirmation if I could crap out my lcd this way? Will i burn the image in? The time keeps changing, i made it change colors, and it goes up and down..
