WHY OH WHY can't I get into my Windows XP?

I have ASUS P4S333 and I can't get into my Windows XP because it has a corrupted pci.sys file. When I tried to boot off my CD-ROM the CD in there is allegedly corrupted as well even though a day before I had no problems using the same CD. This is my second ASUS P4S333 motherboard and I think it's the problem because I can't think of anything else. I even got a new $50 400W PS, but the problems persisted. Could this be my CPU? Problems started when I was running SETI@Home and I came home to BSOD. I was running at 1.7V COMPLETELY stable with SETI@Home and Prime 95 running overnight with no difficulties with temperatures staying around 50C. However, it wasn't giving me problems before (about three days running with no problem), so I'm not sure. I think it's the motherboard. I'll get one last motherboard and then it's back to a different one. Oh why oh why did I get rid my 1600+ & Epox 8KHA+ rig that I had no problems with... The damn temptation of overclocking to 2.4Ghz just did this to me and it's been going on for a week :| If anyone has any idea, LMK, thanks.

Have you put everything back to default settings? Tried clearing the CMOS and going with conservative settings afterward? Have you tried swapping ram(I had a faulty stick cause XP corruption errors that wouldn't let me make it to the desktop using 1.6A@2.32ghz/P4S333) Also, looking at your rig specs, you were pushing that Crucial fairly hard on the mhz, how's the airflow in that case? It sure sounds like something folded under the stress although which component is up to your process of elimination, assuming that it's not recoverable fter a CMOS/settings tweak
