It's "good" because He died for our sins, I guess.

That's what my religious friends tell me, anyway. Still seems F'ed up that Christians call the day where the Romans attempted to execute their deity as a "good" day, though.

Because it is a good Friday to eat a cheeseburger.
Every day is a good friday to eat a cheeseburger. Though I found out recently that I am having a tough time digesting red meat lately. Particularly when it is less than well-done. Kind of sucks. Just sits in my digestive tract somewhere trying to break down but cant. Takes days to end the misery. I have a feeling my steak eating days are over. At least eating anything below well-done. And if it's not below well-done it isn't worth eating. Except for burgers.

Who wants more information about my ability to digest meat?!

Thank you for being so pleasant.

If you believe in invisible men in the sky you believe your serial killer god made me this way and you have to forgive me. And if you think people who believe in fairy tales are morons then you agree with me. Either way I'm clear.

Because they want to attract people to Easter services. "Good" reminds them it would be good to go and toss some $$ into the basket. If it was Holy, people would be reminded of the "holier than thou" people they all know.

:p

Not sure how "Good" settled into common parlance. But as far as "holy" goes, only one day a week is considered "holy," the Sabbath (Jews) or Sunday (Christian). That's why it is a day of rest. And you don't have to be either, to benefit from it.

If you don't like being called out for making dickish posts then don't make dickish posts.

We don't have to forgive anyone. That's up to God.

It's called that in French. Vendredi Saint. But yeah Jesus's death is considered good as it was all part of his plan and why he came to Earth. To die for our sins and to rise again as our savior. All one needs to do is to accept that and believe in him. You don't even need to be part of any religion. You don't need to do lent or any of that either. That's more of a traditional thing. Nothing wrong with it, but there is no need, as Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice and we can't top that as humans.

Replace "dickish" with "100% true and really awkward for wannabelievers" and it explains why your panties are in such a wad. You can feel free to call me out for laughing at god any time you like. In fact, ask him to smite me, see if that works.

The unmitigated arrogance is strong in this one.
