Why not more gas caps behind the license plate?

the only reason to have the gas cap on the right side is so that you can have easy access to the pumps nobody is using since they drive cars with the cap on the left side.
I like having it on the left side. Get out of car, swipe card, begin opening tank and fueling. fast.

Is that extra 5 seconds to walk around your vehicle once a week when you gas up really going to break you?

I could see it being a little irritating if you regularly drive two different cars that have them on different sides though.
