Hi,

I currently have a 24" 1920 x 1200 res lcd.

I would live something 26" with 2800 X 1600 region in resolution.

But when you go above 24" they all have lower HDTV type resolutions.

The DELL 30" is no good as its DVI in only.

My 17" notebook screen has 1920 x 1200.

If only I could have a 24" with the same dot pitch as the 24".

...you can't output 2560x1600 over VGA or single-link DVI. Even 1920x1200 is slightly out-of-spec for (single-link) DVI.

What you really want are monitors with higher pixel density (that is, a 24" widescreen with the same resolution as the current 30" widescreens). This would be absurdly expensive with current LCD manufacturing technology. Try back in a few years.

They do make some really high-dot-pitch LCDs for medical applications (viewing X-Ray/MRI/CAT images), but they are, as previously mentioned, absurdly expensive for the size.

google ibm t210 (20" 2048 x 1536) & 221 (22" 3840 x 2400)

you're right about the expensive part.
