Why No Reservations?

It just boggles my mind why some resturants don't take reservations. Seriously, if you know ahead of time that you and a large party want to eat somewhere, why wouldn't the resturant want to be accomidating?

I have a group of friends going out tomorrow night for my birthday, and I can't believe the place I picked out ($15 -$20 entree seafood resturant, non-chain) isn't willing to make a reservation to ensure they'll get a decent chunk of business.

Because if it's a popular place, they know they can pack people in and all those waiting to get a table will be buying drinks at the bar and spending money anyway.

go to tahoe... they take reservations...

either that or you have to wait 2 hours to get a table at scuzza's

very funny that we can always walk in to the resturant and see a roomful of people waiting, and we get a table immediately.
