Why no Quiet LED fans? No vantec stealth LED or whatever? do LED fans dim if you lower voltage or something????

I'm now adding some fans to a case, but every kewl looking LED fan i check out sounds like a dust buster. i don't think i've seen one rated at less then 30dba. so all those nice windowed cases are probably nice to look at, but not nice to live with, the plexiglass sucking even worse at muffling these things. i've heard of the 7 volt trick to lower fan speeds, but how would that affect the leds? i value silence over looks so i had to get some 92mm vantec stealths. plain stuff so i painted em like this guy did🙂 cept mine are white.

but still! anyone know if people friendly pretty fans are coming out? or exist?

Lol, if the fan is getting less power so that fan turns slower, the leds that are connected to the fan wires will dim also.

So just lower the current limiting resistor for the LED. I'll leave it as an excersise for the reader to figure out how much to lower it.

PS: aww look at the pretty yellow painted fan blades. Looks like a flower. You sure you don't want to put pansies in there too?

thats just a %@# pain. might not be a resistor on a fan with multiple leds right?

and spinning, u just see a blur of white🙂
