Why no official reviews of Venice to San Diego?

Why has this made it to the forums before the various websites? Surely if we can get our hands on San Diego so can the review sites.

The forums are great but get so overloaded with too many people saying wow thats great when you really just want to see results.

Then there are so many detials left out like cooling, cases, ram type and speed and amount, video card drivers and mobo bios. That you really question is this guys result his ram timings or video card drivers.

Whats the dilio? Is there an agreement by AMD not to compare the cores?

Are venice cores defunct san diego's? What are the available chip markings and overclock of each chip code.

I think some of you are really talented overclockers but we need a lab tested review comparing the two cores. Comparing one machine you have to another is too clouded by the possible differences between the two machines in many many ways.

Yup but no direct comparisons to the SanDiego core.

It would be nice to just have a single machine configured and they could swap the cores.

Test at same speed then test at overclockability.

I am mainly interested in seeing the following.

If the additional 512k cache has any significance over the existing 512K cache at the same speed should tell this.

Overclocking temp. With the additional cache does it limit overclocking because of the additional transitor heat output? Granted its a great overclocker but can the venice possibly overclock the sandiego because of the additional heat by the san diego cache?

Otherwise I am left feeling this might just be like video cards with a half gig of ram. Only 1-2 applications which I may not do benefit and its a waste of money.

Anyone else feel this way?

Clock for clock, with no overclocking, the 3800+ Venice will beat the 3700+ San Diego. It would have to. I have read reviews comparing the 3800+ and the 4000+. They are the same clock speed and the only difference is the 1mb cache on the 4000+. Most applications showed both tied. There were a couple that the 4000+ did pull ahead on by 1-5%. Since the 3700+ has a 200 Mhz deficit to the 3800+, the 1mb cache cannot make up for it all.

So is the 1meg cache worth an additional 200+ on the chip rating?

What applications, games, etc was this for?

Come on websites lets compare cores already. This is rediculous.
