Why no more Slot 1 Motherboards!1?!?!?

i got this badass p3 600 @ 933 mhz... slot 1.. and i dont want to have to abandon it because they stop making motherboards for it.

all i see now are the flip chip 370 models and athlon type mobo's out there... any more slot 1's comin out?
 
Nope.

On-die cache is faster, cheaper, & easier to produce. Unless we run into some serious chip real-estate issues in the near future, I'd say socketed CPUs are around to stay.

since you're an abit man you can look at their ABIT SH-6 815e SLOT ATA 100 board. 🙂
