Why no CL2 400mhz 1gig DDR?

Why are 1gb DDR sticks so much harder to produce? I'd love to get 4 sticks of 1gb DDR 433CL2 ram but it doesn't even seem that i can get 400mhz CL2 in 1gb form. :( Any speculation as to when this technology will be available, if at all?

I haven't looked, but it only supports those timings on certain chipsets. Check their site for more info.

I don't believe there is a demand for 1GB sticks. For now 2x512 seems to be enough for most gamers and high end users so not many places carry them. You can try emailing OCZ or Corsair and ask.

Yeah, I agree.
1 GB DIMM's are so expensive that they're really only used in servers or workstations, not gaming rigs, and for a server/workstation, low latency RAM isn't exactly an issue.

Please expand on this statement, I'm current trying to build a 4GB RAM workstation.

unfortunately with that that particular RAM, you can't use more aggressive timings at a lower memory speed.
