Why aren't there more boy band supergroups? The best we had was this lame attempt: http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1551274/20070131/n_sync.jhtml

Seriously most of those guys are guys no one even knew were in any band. It must have been a conspiracy to say "it's been done".

I think they don't do it because they know all top 10 songs would then be dominated by one band and as long as they kept making music no one else would sell records.

I'm sure once they find one they believe will make a lot of money it will be done again. Maybe they are waiting for the economy to get better so they can bet on expensive concert tickets??

I like how the whole fad just petered out overnight in the early 00s. It's like everybody woke up and collectively decided to ditch boy bands.

The music industry no doubt awaits a new generation of females. You cannot recycle the act too frequently.

...no boy band supergroups

that's your answer

That's what I am saying...it's almost like they know forming on would unbalance the charts....like Timberlake, Marky Mark, and that emo kid Joey or something back in their prime...who'd buy any other records?

Because Lady Gaga would kill them. Literally. She would kill them at a show with giant stage props and consume their flesh in front of a raucous audience
