HI All

Im gonna be building a computer soon and looking for a motherboard. Can anyone tell me the benefits of using a nforce board over a kt400 or kt333 board? Are they faster, stabler, better reliability, less compatibility problems?? I know these boards have a digital sound processor called soundstorm but Im only looking to spend around 100 bucks and for this price this feature isnt included. I also notice the Nforce boards only come with 5pci slots.

The Epox 8RDA+ Nforce2 board has both the MCP-T southbridge with the DSP (APU) and firewire, as well as 6 PCI slots. It can also be had for under $105 @ Mwave.

I agree with Insane's recommendation. I have the Epox 8RDA (non + version), but have had zero problems so far with my recent upgrade. For the features, the 8RDA+ is the best Nforce2 board for the $100 price.

would you even use 5 PCI slots? The Epox is considered a "toned-down" nForce board as it isn't as feature rich as some of the more expensive nForce2 solutions. Those with 5 PCI slots wouldn't even need 6 as I'm sure many users are taking advantage of the excelent integrated audio and/or LAN which would take up 1-2 PCI slots...
