Why my R9100 128MB slower than 64MB

Hi, can't believe it.

Does the 64MB version has a faster memory?

my card just can't beat any of the test in 3dMark2001SE

or i just haven't set it right?

what kind of utilities do u use? i just installed the 3.2 catalyze driver.

thanks

less memory on vid cards also ussually means faster memory so yes it probably would beat ur 128 MB card. I use powerstrip to overclock my 9500 pro just google it for the link

9100?s and 8500LE?s come in a lot of different clock rate/memory flavors. Most run a 250 clock rate but the memory varies and 128MB cards a lot of the time have slower memory. I know the Sapphire 9100 128MB is clocked 250/200 and the 64MB card is 250/230.

Blastman, do u know the ns of ur videocard?

i have something xxxxxxxx-4 on the memory, does it mean i have a 4ns card?

I have a sapphire 9100 too.

my 3dmark2001se is 4725 where i can find a 64mb has 5373

... oh oh oh , i just notice that the card is a 8500/LE so ...

what other setting should be enabled to boost the performance and quality?

I agree, your score reflects your system performance, not the card. 3DMark2001 analyses over-all gaming performance, and it sounds about right for your CPU.

As for clockspeeds, the retail Sapphire 9100 128MB is clocked at 250/200 and the 64MB version is 250/230. Your 4ns RAM suggests you should be able to overclock somewhat, but I don't see the point on your current setup.

Yes. ?4ns memory is on the Sapphire 9100 64MB cards (250/230) and should overclock to probably at least 275Mhz. The 128MB Sapphire cards come with ?5 memory clocked 200Mhz. I?ve seen a test where they got the 128 card memory to 261Mhz so realistically the ?5 memory should get up to 250 without a problem.

Here are 3 reviews of the 9100?

As already pointed out good 3Dmark scores also depend on how fast your CPU (and system memory) is. With a fast CPU you can get over 10,000 3Dmark 2001SE on a 9100.

hey, mine is a sapphire 9100 128mb but it really has something xxxxxxx-4 on the ram.

so is it 4ns or 5ns?

I checked Sapphiretech.com and they still only have the 128MB 9100's clocked at 250/200, and 200Mhz memory is usually xxxxxx-5, or 5ns memory.

The 64MB cards memory is clocked 230 and is xxxxx-4, or 4ns.

Are you sure it?s not a Sapphire 8500LE???
