hey guys when i'm running prime 95 the core i7 860 reaches almost 99c the tj max temperature ....only the 3rd core stays behind a 3 to 4 degrees...... everything's on stock clock..... why so?..... does it mean cpu heatsink n fan not properly installed...??

config is i7-860, p7p55d deluxe, kingston ram 2x2gb @1333, xfx 9600gt 1gb gddr3 running on slot power, cooler master elite 430 case, cooler master gx 750 psu

but your cpu is oced to 3.9 ghz.... do you mean that an aftermarket cooler can help me not maintain the temperatures at stock clock only but can also help me when i overclock?

n what is the normal temperature range when the cpu is on 100% load?

Yes.

Normal range for an i7 at 4GHz would probably be low-high 70s at full load, depending on the cooler.

The 212+ is a very good choice.

Sorry I wasn't clear. My i7 860 would hit 95*C at stock speeds (so 2.8ghz with turboboost or 2.93ghz on all 4 cores loaded). Now my temperatures are about 65-68*C at 3.9ghz with the aftermarket cooler. The 212+ isn't going to match that but it is still a great choice at $25-30.
