Why must I delete / reinstall printer everyday to use it ?

Hi
My epson Photo 870 worked perfect with WinME but
it doesn't always work with WinXP. (new system with Asus A7N8X Deluxe)

I have found and installed new drivers for XP and
sometimes it works... sometimes it don't.

If i delete the printer and reinstall it seems to work
for a while.

Tried Win troubleshooter and it missed.....POW

I contacted Epson & followed all their instructions........no good

I have tries all the basics, power, cables, drivers, set as default , etc.

Verified USB port, changed USB cables and tried different jacks
my USB mouse works fine

It's hard to tell my wife how great WinXP is when she can't print.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated...............Rick

try it with a parallel cable instead of the usb...

Maybe a permissions issue? Is this WinXP Pro?

oh OH !
I gave my parallel cable away with my old printer.
I did't think that I would need it again with USB.

Im using WinXP Home , it must not like me
because it will not let me PRINT !

By the way, last night I deleted all things Epson in
msconfig , zone alarm , control panel , downloads , etc
I did a fresh install per Epson tech's support instructions
It printed great last night...do you think it prints today.........NO !

WHY WHY....does my printer forget how to print from one day to the next !

find the drivers and put them in C:/WINNT/SYSTEM32/DRIVER
and than setup than reboot.

DRIVRS in i mean are the .inf and crap. tell me if that works?
