Why must cats torture and kill every small animal that they see?

they "play" with their prey because that rush or hormones that fear incites makes the meat taste better. 😉

the cats are "cooking" the prey in their own juices.

The only prey my cats have access to in my apartment are the occasional bugs... they'll usually either just chow it down without playing, or they'll just look fascinated and watch without ever attacking.

the torturing is common to all cats around the world from Tigers to house cats.

It stimulates their attack/kill instincts and gets them worked up into a frenzy and they then kill and eat their victim.

I have nine cats at the moment. five are mostly outdoor cats and only come in to eat and at night to sleep.

it has been at least 2yrs since any of them caught anything, or brought anything to the door for me. They are not allowed to do that.

'torturing' is just our human's perception. you think they do it because they're 'twisted and cruel'? gimme a break.

it's amazing how things turn around.

when asians eat dogs or cats it's "Cruel" but when cat's torture their victims it's just a matter of perspective.

ya i get it.

I generally like cats, but damn they're pyscho.

over-feed them. and give them a nice warm fire (or heater). then they will become fat, content, and far too lazy to chase little animals.

Struggling to grasp nature I see.....

I wonder what cats think about us raising herds of animals only to slaughter them and waste food in the process.

It's in a cats nature to play/attack and keep it alive as long as possible. I have 5 cats and know. Just look what happened to the i love you magician that thought his BIG cats were tame. Better it being a damn mouse or squirrel then a Human, numbnut! (there was a comma there but he is a numbnut too)

speaking of numbnuts; you should edit that 3rd sentence.

one of my cats, on occasion brings baby bunny's home, she carries them by the scruff of the neck like a mother with a kitten. Unfortunately, last time she grabbed a newborn and it was too fragile to handle the bite. it was still alive but I had to kill it. 🙁
