Why MIRs are a joke...

But my experience has been positive so far. I got a Nikon DSLR at the start of the year. Took 3 weeks for my 10,000 yen rebate (~$100) to arrive...

But then I don't really buy much and not based on whether it has a rebate or not.

Yes. Make sure you read the small print carefully and fill those boxes in exactly. They are a pain...

there ARE some very suspicious rebates out there (especially in-house ones with not so well established companies), but most stuff from antec / ocz and other well known companies came thru in my experience. Just gotta look around and make sure the company you are doing rebate with has good enough reputation for rebate handling. Most are these days it seems.

You know that most of our electronics are made in china right?

you do realize i said "cheaply made china" ...let me dummify...CHEAP CHINA.
NOT
Quality China.

you guys just read things how you want just so you can try to flame someone, stop being stupid

Love rebates, one time i got over $1200 in rebates. No lie. I made over $400 and get a free laptop. It was a staples deal...

Plus i had a ton of virus software i sold a few, threw away most.

Well, what about your first statement: "if it has an MIR, its probably a cheaply made china product"? Most products can be found with a MIR. It doesn't mean the product is cheap. Search any deals forum for AR, and you'll find Western Digital hard drives, high-end ATI and nvidia video cards, etc. I just totally don't get where you came up with the idea that MIR = crappy product.

Here's an example. Go to this link, which should be all the Intel motherboards on Newegg with MIR. It ranges from a $480 EVGA mobo to a $160 Gigabyte mobo to a $45 ECS mobo. In other words, there are cheap, crappy mobos with MIR; there are solid, mid-range mobos with MIR; and there are excellent, high-end mobos with MIR.

Once again, I'm not commenting on what Hacp said about most electronics being made in China. I'm commenting on your false assumption that "if it has an MIR, its probably a cheaply made china product."
