I still think in the long run, freeing those people is in humanity's best interest. We will never really find peace until everyone in the world understands we're all partners on this planet, all of the same species, and working together is better than working against each other.

PS. Of course while I fully stand behind my statement, there is the small matter of my other belief that it might take lots of overwhelming military force to acheve that goal. 😛
