Why isn't there some sort of counter somewhere on the forum which shows how many people are online?

Something along the lines of: x users currently online
Then you could click on it and see exactly who is online.
Just my II cents...

That would be once again another useful feature of invision or phpbb, which once again fusetalk does not have.

So use your buddylist until whenever.

FuseTalk does have this feature. AnandTech even used it for a short while, and then they turned it off. I'm sure that if AT decided to use new forum software that this feature would still be turned off.

There are a lot of features FuseTalk supports that the AT forums don't use, inline images and custom avatars to name a few. Talk to the Mods if you don't like it, but do a little research before blaming it on FuseTalk.

Why did they stop using it? any special reason? and what about avatars, why don't they enable custom ones?

There's probably a performance impact. That's acceptable for some features, but this one seems pretty dumb.

God I hope not. Custom avatars make sites look like crap and are just asking for abuse.

agreed. custom avatars really detract from the look and feel of a website/forum.

Yeah yeah yeah we've heard it before, but I belong to forums that while techinically don't have more members than AT, they get more daily traffic and they can handle these features.

I'm not complaining, simply stating.

Uh, whenever I go to the forum main page, it tells me how many people are logged in out of how many users are registered
