Why isn't there a standard size for baseball fields?

the diamond is standard size. The home run walls obviously aren't. Golf doesn't have a standard field of play. could you imagine golfers playing on the same exact golf course all the time? I didn't think it could get any more boring that it is now.

Yeah, I know. Also, foul territory isn't a standard. Some parks have much more than others, so it's easier to get free outs.

Cricket doesn't have a standard field size.
Hockey rinks differ between North America and Europe.
Skiing every race course is unique.
Boxing rings are different sizes.
Auto and horse racing tracks are different.
