The same reason that The Daily Show was the only news outlet, as far as I know, to air Rumsfeld's blatant WMD contradiction - that he never said he knew where they were, then cut to him saying that "we know where they are."

There have been numerous interviews with Bush and other Republicans denying "Stay the course" was ever in their plan for the Iraq war, when the opposite is demonstrably true....The interviewers just let it go right by. Why aren't they doing their job? They can't dredge up 100 examples of Bush saying "Stay the course." "We're gonna stay the course."??????

it's my guess that the media, after all these years of trying to get bush to explain his actions without confusing himself and anyone within earshot of him at the time, finally caught on that in bush's case, a tangled ball of twine will only get worse the more you try to untangle it. ;)

the daily show is not a news outlet.

Technically, no, it is not. The sad thing is, they do more of a critical analysis of the news than any of the genuine news outlets do.
My statement was made with a hint of irony, in that it takes a comedic news-related show to illustrate what the legitimate channels will not mention.

And that also doesn't change the 2 video clips that they showed. Rummy got busted.

It's not the job of the free press in this country to be for or against. I don't want "rabidly against Bush" and I don't want Bush cheer leading. I want journalists to ask questions.
