OK lost the confrence title. K State gets an automatic bid because they are the conf. champ.

Ok and Ohio State get the at large bids.

Kansas State gets the Big XII automatic bid for winning the conference. Oklahoma gets an at-large bid technically, but since they're #1 in the BCS rankings, they're playing in the Sugar Bowl. Texas might have gotten an at-large bid had Oklahoma won last night, but there's a clause in the BCS that says that no conference can have more than two teams in the BCS, so when KState got the automatic bid, Texas was left out.

no conference can have more than 2 teams in a bcs bowl. k-state gets in because they won the conference title. ou gets the other spot because they are ranked higher. the system does indeed suck:)

and don't waste time talking about how much texas sucks because OU beat them and arkansas beat them. if they were in any other conference they would have an undefeated conference schedule and would be in a bcs game.

Now, here's the weird thing. K-State is the Big XII champ, and they get the automatic bid despite being ranked lower than Texas. Yet, West Virginia was the Big East Champ, and they get shut out of the BCS because they weren't ranked highly enough. That just fuels my hatred of the BCS even more. Even when a team plays its way in, so to speak, the mathematical formula keeps them out. Technically, they shared the title with Miami, but they did beat Miami when the two met. God, the BCS sucks so much.

They are both 6 and 1 in Big East play. You are also incorrect, Miami lost to VTech, West Virginia lost to Miami. West Virginia upset Tech not Miami. If Miami had lost to Pitt, West Virginia would have been in a BCS bowl game, however Miami has half the Big East title, and two less losses.

Uh Miami holds part of the Big East Title.

I realize that. But, why should Miami hold part of the title? They have the same record as West Virginia (in conference), and they lost to them. Just going by conference records, West Virginia should have played their way in. Now, I'm not saying that West Virginia is nearly as good as Miami. There was more than a bit of luck involved in their win. But, they won. I don't know why the BCS ranking counts for more than head to head games. That's all I'm saying.

Miami beat West Virginia. West Virginia beat Virginia Tech
