Why isn't my floppy working?

you know, it's just floppy *wink wink* .... I kid, I kid. :)

Anyways, both of my PCs floppy drives stopped working. My main PC with parts that are only about a year old stopped working. I think I did remove the cable to do something once, but its not working now. I tried flipping the cable and even swapping cables with my other PC and that didn't work. And then when I plugged that cablle back into my second PC, that one doesn't work anymore. It just lights up and that's about it. any help guys?

Usually, when the floppy light comes on and stays on, but the floppy doesn't work, its because the cable is reversed. Try connecting the cable the other way and see what happens.

Try removing the disk drive from Add/Remove hardware, and reinstalling it. That is if you still have or could get the drivers for it. If that doesn't work and the ribbon isn't the problem, contact someone who works in the computer repair field.
