Why isn't my 52X burner recognized in Nero/CDRWIN?

Windows XP, fresh load. Buslink 52X burner on Secondary IDE, set to Master, only device on that IDE. 8K3A+ Mobo.

Neither Nero (5.5.9.0), nor CDRWIN (3.8G) recognize any recorders.

XP recognizes it as "52x24x52 CD-RW". No model #, just that.

Any ideas?
 
Must have been the older version! 5.5.10.15a (wow what a version number) seems to have fixed it ok. Must be because it is a pretty new burner.

 
Yeah, I had the same problem when I got my LiteOn 52x burner a few months ago. I am terrible about not keeping up with Nero updates, and the burner was not recognized until I updated to the latest version....
