Why isn't all of my memory showing up?

I just installed 2x2GB sticks of RAM (G-skill DDR2-800), and kept my old 2x1GB sticks (Corsair DDR2-800) in so I could just use what I had without wasting. However, in my W7 64-bit system properties, it reads:

"Installed memory (RAM): 6.00 GB (4.94 GB usable)"

Checking my available RAM in BIOS and via a W7 sidebar gadget/widget, it confirms that I'm only getting 5,055MB of useable RAM. So what is the deal? Is it a chipset or BIOS limitation that I'm running into? I've reseated the RAM and CPUID shows all 4 sticks with the correct info.

Hard to say, given you have not disclosed the make/model of your chipset and/or BIOS.

Whoops. I had written that out, but decided to change the wording of my question, erased it all and forgot to put it back in.

Asus P5B Deluxe P965 Express chipset. I'll get the BIOS info a bit later.

That did it, thanks! I had never heard of memory remapping, this is the first time I've had over 2GB of RAM. I googled to see what that even was, then scoured the BIOS until I found the setting in the north bridge configuration. Now I'm showing 6144MB!!!

For x64, you always want it enabled.
