anti-immigrant/close the borders = racism? Is it possible you just don't want people to come into your country without being racist?

I would think so. Closing the borders closes it to all people, regardless of race, so how is that considered racist?

I hope so. The problems I see are with security related. It's not only terrorists, we're being overrun with drug smuggling and other violent criminals from Latin America, along with alien smuggling for sex slavery and other criminal enterprises. And that's before we get to the wholesale destruction of the labor market.

It happens that the biggest problems is with our southern border, but I think the argument that it's racisim is phoney. The people who come from that area happen to be predominantly Latino, but the problems are what they are doing, and they would be the same, regardless of the color of their skin.

Regardless of what policies we decide we want regarding how immigrants should be allowed to join our society, we need controls, or all we've got is chaos.

there is a little bit of bigotry involved in so far as nationalism is bigoted. but wanting closed borders isn't rascism. i guess if you were only concerned about closing the mexican border cause you don't like brown skinned people.

I think if you don't want people to come into the country who aren't racists you would have to be a supporter of racism. I would prefer, myself, to not have people coming in who are racists.
