why is WinXP not recognizing all of my RAM?
I have a shuttle AK35GTR, and I am using 3 sticks of RAM. one 512mb, and two 128mb DDR 2100 simms. my bios sees all 3, showing me that I have something like 768mb of memory, but WindowsXP, using its system Information page, only shows that I have 640mb of Physical memory.. so unless windowsxp has a limit of 640mb, which I doubt, it is only seeing my 512mb and one of the 128mb simms. I come to that conclusion because that equals 640mb's.
my manual for my motherboard indicates that I can use any combo of memory, that unlike other motherboards I have owned, you don't have to have a matched pair or something like that in the last 2 slots.. or whatever the strange rules where.
does anyone have any idea how to get windows to see my other 128mb simm?
