Can someone explain?

There was some good info about ACPI and IRQ management. I wanted to follow up on some of the comments there.

I have a hardware issue related to IRQ sharing with Win XP.

The thread was off-topic; an explanation was left in the thread. Due to the huge amount of traffic in General Hardware, we police this forum relatively heavily in order to keep it to a reasonable level.

Yes, I sometimes wonder why a thread has been locked when there seems to be no offence visible anywhere.

You might try posting this in "Forum Issues."

This is an OS issue and not General Hardware related.

It wasn't about hardware as much as it was about the OS, so it didn't belong in the General Hardware forum.
