This problem just started the other day out of the blue when I started the machine up. This weird beeping that sounds like a little musical tune that plays then silence for several seconds before it repeats. I understand it is an alarm but I don't know what it is or how to stop it. I have used the hardware monitor but everything is within spec but it won't read fan speeds bit I have no idea why. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that this versions is not meant for Vista.
It only beeps when starting up. Once Vista boots to the desktop it stops. I tried going into the BIOS and I the only thing I see is that it reports the system fan is at 0 RPMs even though the fan is running fine. Is there anyway to turn off this damn alarm? I don't want to listen to it anymore as I can find nothing actually wrong.
Thanks.
