Why is this country bumpkin 'Toes' song on popular music stations?

what are you doing wasting you time listening to top 40 stations anyway?? it's the same 10 songs all day long. and maybe they play it because...it's popular??

the stations I have been listening too have a longer playlist...I have metal too in that.

I just can't understand this type of song making the cut.

Did he give his ass up to some corporate mogul or something?

That's not it. I don't know what clear channel media is attempting by rotating in a song that has no business in a format station's lineup.

That would be my country station I listen to as well...

I actually don't listen to the radio unless its NPR, for the news.

instead Ford Sync + iTunes + ipod = Win

To remind you how much of a bargain that Sirius actually is. And now that I've figured out where the NPR station is on Sirius, I can't even recall the last time the car's stereo was actually tuned into an AM or FM station.
 
Never heard of him or the song but apparently he's from the same area I now live (and where Shawn Mullins happened to go to college and plays often). I'll look out for him and try to see him next time he's in the area.
