Why is this book so much cheaper in the UK?

After seearching for the best price for this book- Home Technology Integration+ (Text & Lab Manual W/Software) ISBN:0131421069, I managed to get a copy from Blackwell's UK $57.70 shipped. This is the first book available for the new CompTIA HTI+ exam.

In the US the book retails for >$160, and can't be found online much cheaper. What accounts for this? Does Cisco purposely overcharge here in the US?

Also the best place to buy from in the UK is Pickabook best prices plus (by far) the best shipping. I've bought probably 20 books from them and never had any type of problem.

Actually I just always blaimed on their socialist government (I just assumed they price fixed textbooks) but I really have no idea.

Even purchasing the book directly from the US publisher costs $144.

I'm also wondering why the huge difference?

Is this a little known secret? I never heard of it. Why would anyone purchase textbooks in the US if that's the case?

It isn't completely well known, yet. But it is known enough to piss off those selling books in the US. I've heard that many college bookstores are trying to file a class-action lawsuit against foriegn (sp?) companies selling books in the US. Hopefully that idea crashes and burns.

We have a socialist government?...news to me.....lol

I didn't realise we had cheaper books than you guys...well i'm sold...I am gonna go out and buy some books tomorrow...dunno what of though....

Just textbooks. Everything else seems to be on-par with US prices.

There must be a reason for this.
