Every thread seems to be one relative case to another, Intel has nothing to say, and no site seems to have undug this info. What temperature is good? What is dangerous? Where does it redline? My Asus Probe doesn't report anything less than 40 celsius. Is this because 40 or less is good?

Asus temp does not show temperatures under 40 C. It's a bug and is supposed to be fixed in the beta bios update.

66-70 is considered critical temp for a P4 ... I think the 1.6 is 66C, 1.8 is 67, and the 2.4 can withstand 70C. The rest fall in between.
