I got my abit KT7 motherboard yesterday, I couldn't wait till my alpha hsf comes it so I used a celeron intel hsf, and the temp is at 33-35c with an 80mm fan blowing on top. Why would the temp be accurate? The heat sink is not hot to touch, so I'm guessing it's the right temp reading.

Are the readings lower or higher then they are supposed to be?

Read the second and third pages of that thread. JohnCar is a person with decades of thermodynanics work/experience, and I basically learned everything about secondary heat pathways from him.

The problem is, when you read temp from a secondary pathway, you get only a percentage of actual cpu core temp changed, plus the result is messed up due to contact with air. That is the short version, and thsi is what makes comparison's with socket A temps very very wrong.

Keep the temps at a "reasonable" level, and you'll be fine.
