I don't know but it looks like the only good flick based on DC content so far.

They go on suicide missions to not be blown up as they are expendable.

Pretty much this.

Never seen the Dirty Dozen ?

One of the only comic based flicks I've been looking forward to.

Funny enough I had never heard of Suicide Squad being used in comics before so when I saw the preview I thought it was an egregious rip off of DC content :)

Other than the Joker, that movie was trash.

exactly. I thought those flicks were OK action flicks, but other than the Joker they weren't that great. They certainly weren't better than Burton/Michael Keaton Batman.

I love the MoS--I think that is the best overall DC movie to date, but the Suicide Squad actually looks to be fun. As great as MoS is, no one would ever call it fun. I recall that ~the Dark Knight Rises release there was a memo from within the inner DC sanctum stating that their film IP will never see "jokes," they will never be "fun" and only ever be taken as "serious" in, supposedly, a direct response to the massive success of their rivals Marvel with their film IP.

Suicide Squad looks like someone showed up later and swept the crap out of that old stodgy boardroom and understood that producing a film is very different than producing a "serious" comic book for middle-aged virgins. I think they understood that such movies are actually supposed to be fun.

I really want to see this one.

No way. The the only thing I thought was lame was the China/hacking thing, otherwise its perfectly fine. Even thought Two Face was great, just rushed a bit.

I almost thought you might have been insane until you mentioned MoS. The Burton Batman movies are just bad. They were bad then, and I doubt they held up at all. The first hour of Batman Begins was badass, but then it faltered. Dark Knight was close to perfect, except for the China BS. Dark Knight Rises was kinda bad, although I've come around to the Bane performance. Not so much in the movie, but when other people do impersonations of it. lol

But that said, I'd rather watch MoS. My Top 5 DC movies: Man of Steel, Superman 2, Dark Knight, V for Vendetta, and maybe The Losers or Batman v Superman. I dunno, I like the cast in The Losers and the action was good, but the plot could have been better.

What's the Losers? I never heard of that.

Still haven't seen B v S, but I hear the new DC for that is pretty good. The theatrical trailers kept me away. :\

Agreed on the older Batman movies. I watched them recently (or I should say I tried) and they're not good. I have no idea why so many have them on a pedestal, but it seems that's the cool thing to say now.

The Burton films are still great--I watched the first one a few weeks ago. They are fun comic book movies and Michael Keaton is awesome, certainly better than anyone else that played Batman.

I like the Nolan movies for various reasons, but they aren't fun and they don't feel like comic books. Nolan's Joker asked him about his movies, "Why so serious?" Good question.

Surprised no one has been offended by the name yet "as a suicide survivor the name of this movie offends me, please change it to love squad".
