Why is the OEM warranty longer at Fry's than the retail stuff at the Geeks??

I purchased a 2.66 combo with the 533 fsb speed OEM cpu and mb from Fry's for $159.00. The cpu comes with a one year warranty. But if you buy the retail cpu at the Geeks which comes with the hs/fan for $179.00, the warranty is only 30 days??

Does that make sense??

1 year is parts/labor through manufacture. Im sure the 30 days is more the geeks satisfaction guarantee?
