Why is the media considered liberal?

I have seen many of the right-wingers on this board repeat that the media is liberal (and therefore cannot be trusted...blabla). Would anyone like to explain why this is?

From what I've seen, most of the liberal news shows/newspapers tend to have a liberal bias and have been known to occasionally skew facts in favor of the democrats.

Watch any TV Newscast. Pick up a newspaper or news magazine. Figure it out.
